My Houzz: historic family cottage which is in touch with his roots - Artist Ros Matson loves tones and textures of nature and objects made the hand. She also always loved the 1890s mud and straw Cottage nestled in the Adelaide Hills on the beautiful property of Australia. When managing the property and tending the slippery slopes became too much for his father-in-law, Ros and her husband, Terry, bought the beautiful land of his pocket and textured home.

Use of the environment and the original character of the cottage as their guide, the Matsons worked with local builders to give out a much- needed updating and adding new kitchen, living space and studio painting. Nodding to the German family of eight who built the house, the house now serves as a refuge for all of their extended family.
