Houzz Tour: At Home With ... Becky Freeman of The Puddle Jumper - Spirited blog Becky Freeman, The Spirited Puddle Jumper is as it sounds - a joyous celebration of family fun inspiration, interiors and crafts to food and travel. Freeman's tone is friendly and easy to identify, and overflowing in its interior style, too, who is authentic with a nod to Scandinavian and retro elements. " I think it is good to follow trends or aspects of trends," she said. "But buying a whole look for your home can leave unimaginative. I like to see people put their own stamp on things and what I try to do, too."

What do we need to know about your blog?
There is a family-dominated interior and lifestyle blog I like to think is written in a down-to-earth and unpretentious way. I want to write about our home and family life, and gradually more and more people came for the ride.

what you start blogging?
I 'D always enjoyed writing and being creative, having studied for a broadcast journalism degree and worked in public relations in a previous life. I then went on to have two babies in 15 months, so did not return to work as expected, and while I loved being home with them, I missed having something to "me".

I'd started widely read blogs in the family in the United States and thought, "I could do that!" so I gave it a shot. I was rubbish first two blogs (everyone has heard of 'Young , hip and Homely? no? You were not missing out!) and then decided to create a craft blog as Spirited the Puddle Jumper. That was then transformed to include more and more at home and interiors as we began to renovate our house.

what is your favorite place in the house and why?
I love our kitchen-dining room, we created by knocking through. It is really the heart of the house. We can cook for the children to play or draw at the table and French windows directly overlook the terraced area. It is such a friendly space day or night, and there's nothing better than having a glass of wine at the bar with friends with the doors open and someone else cook for you!

how long have you lived here and how did you and your home meet?
We have lived here for four years, and we first clapped eyes on the house by Rightmove. Pictures of him were so bad that I was not interested in seeing for centuries, until Adam convinced me. Once we had a vision, I could see the potential, and we decided to go there.

Do you have a design rule that you live by?
Not really, I just buy what I want at the time, but I'm certainly inspired by magazines and websites. I think it's good to have some original pieces and be original in some respects, even if you go to a theme or overall style. This means the date a room better, too.

What is your next big decorating project?
We have almost finished decorating based paint, but there are still lots of photos and engravings to implement. I also tried to change the color of the living room slightly as I love gray, I wonder if it's too dark and could do with a lighter shade. It's just a case of whether to convene energy.

What do you think is the next big trend interiors and why?
I honestly have no idea, but I push for bathroom suites of attorney to make a comeback in both old and new forms. I think they would look great with some smooth white tile floor and beautiful! I wrote a blog post on this there is a little time, though, and people do not agree with me ...

What is your key to a healthy and happy life?
Occupy but not too busy, and eat well. I like to have a lot of work in progress and social-wise, but be careful it does not tip in stress.
go regularly to the gym or for a swim or a run, always helps me balance again my mindset. Oh, and laugh and have fun as much as possible.

What was the house like when you moved into first?
Grim! The previous owners had been there for 10 years, but they were more people "garden", so had almost nothing at home. The decor was appalling, with questionable electricity and switches in odd places, and the dining room was separated from the tiny galley kitchen.

the bathroom was the worst, though - it was not touched during the years of ass. The shower produced such a noise it made our son, then 12-month-old Freddie cry!

What is the first thing you do when you get up in the morning?
I'm usually a little person in my face from 6am, which still scares me every time, even if I should be used to it now. I would like to say that I do something healthy and informative, but actually, I roll into the shower, then head down for a coffee.

what do you love to do on Sunday afternoon?
If we're not out and visit a place like the Museum of Science, or the park with the kids on their bikes, we love hanging out at home. Sometimes we have friends over for a roast or barbecue and lots of red wine, but otherwise we really enjoy playing with children. We are so busy with work / school / preschool during the week, it's nice just to be together.
