My Houzz: Midcentury modern style with a US flavor in Australia - pursue a job in San Francisco and saw Janette Dan Brennan Brisbane revved their home for many years and set off on an adventure. When the baby was three, they went all the way back home with their new package and a shipping container full of midcentury vintage items collected during their travels.
Before their return to their homeland, Janette and Dan spent 12 months of consultation with Brisbane design company Profile Design Studio to work on the renovation of the house. The main brief was to create a new kitchen, laundry room, garage and outdoor space at the rear of the house. Because of the age of the house, all the pieces were in need of attention. And with the baby Isla make the trip back to Brisbane, as the couple knew they would need practical solutions, including more storage.

"the greatest challenge was in the house during the renovation," says Janette, who was determined to save money in the process. "We used to see us Builders and Contractors pajamas every morning. I managed the construction project while I was on maternity leave, which in hindsight was madness. Most of the time I had to leave home to Isla could nap at his grandparents house.
