My Houzz: a breathtaking view of the ocean from a beachhouse in Malibu - This three-storey property sea has undergone several renovations since Andy Gordon bought back nearly 15. The last came with his recent marriage to Brandon Carlo in 2013. This renovation involved two interesting design challenges: how to meet the needs of a new and growing family and how to create a style that was masculine and warm and inviting. The couple turned to interior designer Tim Clarke assistance in all phases of the transformation of the house.

the large terrace is the result of Andy fell a tea room, which occupied most of the right side of the space when he bought the house. Tea rooms are common on Malibu balconies, allowing residents to enjoy the ocean view in the heat during the cold months of winter, but Andy did not see the need for. "I much prefer the open space and only come here during the summer," he says.
However, Carlo insisted spend time here during the winter and suggested adding spa bath and a fireplace. "It is now time favorite Andy in Malibu. It is quiet because the summer crowds gone, and the sunrises and sunsets are brighter," says Carlo.
Clarke used raw wood throughout, pale blue Mexican stone wall and a palette of muted colors for the furniture, allowing the ocean to take the stage. "with the sun and the ocean stern , floors require sanding every year. It is a commitment, but we love the aesthetics, "says Carlo.

As in master bedroom, the design of the living room was Clarke's response to the request of the couple for a masculine look that was also comfortable and welcoming. The interior was already a house classic beach look with a set of white and light blue colors. Clarke was given a modern update with a stone fireplace hard and dark wood-beamed ceiling. The ceilings here and in the master bedroom are oiled teak. The solid angular furniture is softened by large pillows, keeping the kid-friendly space and relaxed.
