My Houzz: A Beautiful Cotswold Home Nestled in a hidden valley - As creative director and homeware brand Cabbages & Roses mode, Christina Strutt has a natural eye to create a country look English. Thus, the restoration and redecoration of this beautiful country house thought to date from the 1500s was a natural choice. "The house has been in my husband's family for 200 years," says Christina, and family life is clearly at the heart of this house as his son and his family now live in the neighboring house.
Christina decorated throughout its signature fabrics that pull on the faded glamor of linens and antique and vintage flowers with a soft, pale color palette. However, despite the chocolate-box prettiness of the house, Christina is not afraid to experiment with the design of interiors. "I'm always changing things," she admits. "It is in a constant state of flux.

The 16th century property has a beautiful outdoor stone honey color and a wonderfully relaxed character. Five different inputs allow the family and guests to plant around the summer and access to beautiful gardens that are an integral part of the house.

vintage finds, soft tones and antique furnishings set the tone on entering the house. The antique dresser and vintage chairs in the boot room came from an antique market. The cushions are upholstered in a conventional tape delayed for a relaxed, country atmosphere.

the reception kitchen with large farmhouse table, traditional dresser and painted wood cabinets in the heart of the house, although it was not always located here. It was originally the living room, "but my dream was to have a fire in the kitchen, Christina said," so we swapped rooms more, brought in an Aga and we now have a beautiful log fire burning in the kitchen.

This comfortable and relaxed room used for cooking before it is transformed into a living room. "After stealing the lounge to cook, we had to move the lounge just off," says Christina.

Ensconced really comes into its own in winter. "It's my favorite piece, Christina admits.

a second, larger living room has a similar feel relaxed and several windows flood the space with light. It also shows no signs of its previous incarnation surprisingly hardy. "This room was a pigsty," Christina laughed, "before it was converted into a living space.
The play was indeed through many changes in his time." After the pigsty, he was transformed into nursery for children, then it became the main salon.

on sun room is the perfect space to relax or work, with great views of the pretty garden. Coordinate blinds and curtains, printed inspiration sweet vintage give a very English charm to the nice room.

the fabrics designed by Christina are used throughout the house and all have a nicely faded look and relaxed for them. As an interior designer, Christina was frustrated by the tissues that were available to her there are 14, she decided to do it herself, and in 2000, Cabbages & Roses was born.

fabric Christina designs are all inspired by the gentle beauty of old linen. "My business partner, Bridget, and I find a vintage quilt and decided to design a fabric inspired by the beautiful antique look washed out," she says. "We designed one, then we had the technical printed and perfected to make things look old when they were new.

bathroom continues the campaign theme, with a delicate pink wallpaper. It works well in this space, but Christina advises, "p ut a glass backsplash around the tub if you decide to use wallpaper in the bathroom. '

framed prints come with a fair antiques surround the bath. "I like to experiment with different looks," says Christina. She encourages others to be courageous with design choices, reasoning that "you can always put it back if you change your mind."

An arch characterful leads to a dressing room, which is accessed via a small staircase. "The space was originally an exterior attic, accessible from outside the home," says Christina, but she was curious to know what was behind it. "I started picking away outside.

comfortable, spare room is popular with guests and has a light, comfortable feel. White painted paneling tongue and groove creates a rustic look while a group of small framed paintings add a warm touch.
