The Stein decorating scheme was inspired mainly by original architecture of his house. The high ceilings, walls of white brick and exposed iron beams begged for a visually interesting interior. "I wanted to keep it light, bright and modern but also bring in an interesting mix of furniture," says Stein.
Like all the loft - except for her room - is an open room, it was important for her to watch out for floor plans and arrange the furniture in a logical and comfortable way. "Even the best furniture will not look good if it is set wrong, she said. "I had my basement three ways before finding the best arrangement furniture.

The structure of the room presented several design challenges, mainly because the space is not only a simple square or rectangle. There are several difficult nooks and crannies, which led to a of 15 wall sections. However, this has come to define certain areas in space, like the home office and the living room area. "I really approached each wall as a separate area, but obviously they all had to coordinate, said Stein. "It helped me to not have any dead corners or areas.

"It is a great mix of glam and chinoiserie, and I aspire to create similar areas to that, she said. A modern pendant light helps connect the dining area in open space, giving it a strong position in the loft.

blue and pink were always intended to be the main colors in the palette to space, but Stein was careful to balance these bright colors with neutrals to soften. The result is an eclectic and colorful space that feels coherent, but is not overwhelmingly. This home office, situated in one of the odd corners of the loft apartment, used this palette of colors with a shocking blue wall and an electric pink office.

Because the loft is composed of many different areas, Stein wanted each having its own focal point. One element in each zone was designated as the colored part or patterned, and the rest was a mix of wood, black, white and gold.

space is a rental, so the kitchen came as he is. While Stein would replace the cabinets for something a little more her style, she was able to dress the space with a unique vintage art, a fun carpet and some nice houseplants.

"I knew early on that I wanted to do, but also quite evolved along the way," says Stein, pictured here with her pug, Bailey. 'I love my white brick walls and really wanted my place to feel neutral, but neutral infused with bohemian glamor.
