Houzz Tour: A Charming, polished Country Home in France - It was the barn that sealed the deal for Alon and Betsy Kasha. When the Parisian couple were looking for a family holiday in Normandy, they fell in love with a house that was part of a former vicarage of the village - the gardener's house and the barn. Although the barn was in poor condition, they were attracted by its high ceilings and exposed beams. As the owners of a   b kasha designs, they had a lot of experience renovating apartments in Paris and could not wait to try their hand at a country house of their own.

Most of the exterior of the house has been preserved in its original style, with the gardener's house and the barn still connected. The barn now has a family room, three bedrooms and two bathrooms.

the living room is on the ground floor of what was once the home gardener. The two leather armchairs and antique Corbusier leather and metal chair in 1930 Club create a casual arrangement of seating around a coffee table zinc at the top. A French artist made the lamp with recycled materials.

the exposed ceiling beams in the gardener's house and the barn are some of the favorite features of Kashas. Although some original features have been maintained, the couple changed the provisions of the two structures to reflect a more modern lifestyle. They removed several walls to open and connect the kitchen, dining room and living room in one large room.

The family wanted a practical and organized kitchen that reflects their relaxed lifestyle. Simple white lacquer cabinetry is easy to clean, and a work plan butcher block adds a rustic counterpoint. Open shelves home dishes, and food cupboards wall store.

the couple chose their light palette for walls and trim of Farrow & Ball. The different shades of white draw attention to the clean lines of the house and play with the natural light that floods the house facing south.

The family has used a large number of existing furniture from their previous home, but in different parts and in different ways. A unit nuts, used for storing food in their old kitchen, now has games and puzzles in the family room.

while the white walls create an atmosphere of relaxation and serenity, as the surrounding village. There are not lots of windows in areas on the floor of the house, but the white corridors attract the light from one side of the house to another.

a guest room on the ground floor of the barn overlooks one of the many gardens of the house. Embroidered Bedding Paris mimics the engravings on an ancient lamp.

Alon and Betsy choose their master bedroom based on its unique architectural details. "The sloping ceiling with beautiful old beams creates a tranquil and soothing space, said Betsy. The table containing part of their collection is an ancient Chinese meridian. The couple cut the legs down and used as a coffee table in their first home.

a day bed in another room enjoys a fireside created by attic rafters of the house. modern style cushions contrast with more traditional carpet - a perfect example of the couple's signature style.

gardens of the house were a huge draw for Kashas. Although much of the property was wild and overgrown when they bought the first, they tamed in a large outdoor area, they can enjoy almost all year.
