Houzz Tour: a modern extension Raise an Edwardian weatherboard Home - Bill and Christine McCorkell bought their house in 2010 with the intention of renovating. Not only is the original home of Edwardian weatherboard undergone renovation ugly 1980s, the family of four (not including rabbits and lizards) needed the extra space. They decided to build an additional floor to accommodate additional bedrooms and a bathroom, but do not stop there. The transformation was vast: in front of the house has been left unchanged, but the rooms have been renovated and modified to bring the style of the house into the modern era while retaining the original features, such as high ceilings, ceiling roses and cornices. As you move further into the house, the space subtly moves to a more contemporary style with polished concrete floors and walls polished blocks.

with sustainable principles, form and function in mind, the McCorkells wanted to create a house of personality - one that was beautiful, elegant and playful all at once. "We love the ease and beauty of the house, especially the way it integrates the outside," Bill said.
