Houzz Tour: A bright open Homestay with Midcentury Modern Style - Helen Sheppard and David Cripps bought their home in Croydon, Adelaide for its size and "good bones" but they are not crazy decoration or existing layout. "The owners wanted to make their own," said Rebecca Cichero a small room, the firm hired to redesign the house so that it better met the needs of the family. Rebekah and her husband Timothy divide a Danish wall unit into four parts for adding open shelving storage with some cabinets hidden in both the dining dining / living room and kitchen.

"We had a slight panic when the old concrete floor beneath the tiles proved difficult to treat," Rebekah said. "Customers were willing to reuse the old concrete floor beneath the slate tiles to avoid a new casting.

At first, they filled them with a gray burden which looked terrible, so we insisted he had to go and something to be tried, 'Rebekah said. This is the main living / dining room before the redesign. Removing the slate tiles and expand windows to create three sets of glass doors makes the area feel lighter and welcoming.

A small room is specialized in upcycling vintage pieces. Consequently, the family room features a blend of vintage and design pieces and articles owners already had. The cow is from Brazil, while the modern sofa is mid-century Danish and reupholstered in fabric Mokum Textiles. The coffee table is also Danish with a reversible top, and chairs are originals by Ercol but were reupholstered in fabric Mokum.

newly laid flooring in the kitchen includes some Baltic pine recovered to tie down the hall, rooms and formal living area in front of the house as transparent as possible with the kitchen. The soils were then sanded and stained throughout with dark chocolate to make them look as if they had always been there.

the idea of the master bedroom was to create a luxury boutique hotel feel. Bedhead custom is covered Mokum Ficus and pendant light resin is vintage. An old safe industrial style serves nightstand on one side with an ancient Chinese stool on the other.
