"Paul remembered an old, overgrown ruin he had known as a teenager, so he took Linda to see it and they both loved it," says Keith Fennelly of Woodale Designs. "They managed to track down the owner and finally bought. "the house had lots of extra rooms to him in the 1960s, but they were poorly designed and had been abandoned for years." with the help of architects Aughey O'Flaherty Paul and Linda dressed added a contemporary extension of wood, "said Fennelly." They approached us to design the new kitchen and also asked for proposals for adapting it with furniture. " .

"The kitchen cabinets are oak and doors are moisture resistant panel with a thin frame, solid wood poplar around the outside," said Fennelly.
" part of the reason for this framework was to help us design the handle and decide how to incorporate it into the door itself, "added Fennelly." the original specification was for a design traction finger along the tops or sides of the units, but it has evolved into a custom design created in collaboration with the owners. the unity of sculptural island is made of American white oak with a white oiled finish. It is topped with a thick worktop 125mm polished gray concrete with embedded rocks throughout.
"The concrete was poured in place to give the best results and the thickness was achieved by building in layers," says Fennelly.
"We made solid wood doors and added a finger-pull handle machined at the top. "
The island is as functional as it is beautiful, and houses a large bin for waste and recycling, dishwasher and general storage. There is also an overhang to provide a clean space for casual dining.

We spent hours looking at design options and details for each room and furniture. Their architect has played a huge role in the design of their home and worked closely with them for over a year before I came on board. "
