Houzz Tour: An apartment Dublin receives Luxe Modern Makeover - When the design duo based in Dublin Angelina Ball and Grace Macdonald Phoenix Interior design was responsible for the interior redesign an apartment on the outskirts of their city, they were delighted to transform the tired decor into something really special and luxurious.
"The building was completed in 2004," said Angelina Ball. "It is a unique development, as each apartment has a different layout, each with its own design."
The pair worked alongside the owner's penthouse on the third floor, which was heavily involved in the beginning of the design process to finish. "He also had a huge input in the functionality of space and we designed the apartment according to their lifestyle," says the designer. "It was a great witness of the property to gradually transform from an ordinary interior obsolete in a penthouse of contemporary luxury. It has a special feeling."

The penthouse has a spacious open living and dining room (18ft x 17ft), a kitchen, three bedrooms, two suites and a main bathroom
"The master bedroom has two defined areas -. living and dining. The living area is open and airy, but the couch and television face deliberately away from the dining room, "says the designer. This helps define the two distinct spaces, as well as the addition of a comfortable carpet next to the sofa. the living space is given cohesion with the introduction of black tones on the fireplace, shelves, cushions and artwork.
the solid oak flooring was bare, whitewashed to brighten the natural wood, then sealed with a matte finish.

The comfortable L-shaped sofa was custom made in gray linen. "The seat cushions are wrapped feathers. It is incredibly comfortable, "says Ball. It is finished with lots of custom cushions in a range of ocher, gray and taupe.
The discreet luxury ambiance continues with a faux leather swivel chair caramel, a coffee table with a base of golden metal and a gray wool carpet.

The high, double ceiling height allows mezzanine on the first floor where the owner has installed a bar, cinema room and entertainment area.
"mezzanine was part of the original design, but we have replaced obsolete steel railings with a wall partition," said Ball . "It gives the apartment a contemporary stylish look and really makes mezzanine printing a separate area. The seats of the car and a table make you feel as if you're in a trendy bar. "
The great statement of luminaire is made from cast iron with gray metal mesh and highlights major proportions.

The mezzanine bar is fully functional and a great place to meet with clients. "We Refurbished in a gray-brown, with quartz worktops to complete the woodwork and paint color," says the designer.

"the glass door opens onto a large balcony and barbecue," says Ball. "We chose steep white shutters to let more light into the space where privacy is needed."

Elegant and luxurious, the master bedroom has a bathroom and dressing room.
"Our client wanted the feeling of a luxury hotel room and somewhere he could relax away from the living space," Ball says. "The color palette is very on trend, with touches of gray, black and gold."

As a number of objects in the penthouse, the headboard is a custom piece. It is made with a solid, stained oak surround and Osborne & Little fabric.
