Houzz Tour: A London Terrace is given an elegant architectural advantage - Built on a bomb site after the Second World War, the house was not touched in years when its current owners bought. It has been divided into lots of small rooms, so the goal of the owners was to open the space and also extend the property by adding a basement. Once added the basement, however, he did more than simply increase the size of the house, it also provided the inspiration for the interior design.
"The owners were inspired by the rough walls of the basement when he was just a shell," says architect Georgina Turvey, who worked on the project. As a result, a moody monochrome color system short throughout the property and walls were treated for concrete plaster effect. "the owners love the idea that it is a normal terraced house from the outside," says Turvey, "but when you go in it is a little more architectural and industrial. "
